Mississippi salvage title cars cannot be driven until they have been repaired and inspected. 

How to Get a Salvage Title Cleared in Mississippi

To clear a salvage brand in Mississippi, you’ll need to make the necessary repairs and have the vehicle inspected. 

Bring the following items to your MS salvage vehicle inspection:

  • The salvage title. 
  • Proof of ownership. 
  • A valid driver’s license. 
  • Receipts or bills of sale for all parts used in the reconstruction of the vehicle. 
  • 4 color photos showing each side of the car before the repairs. 
  • Payment for the $75 salvage inspection fee. 

After the inspection have been passed, submit the following to your local DMV office:

  • A completed inspection report. Completion of Vehicle Inspection (Form 78-022)
  • A completed Application for Inspection of a Salvage/Rebuilt Vehicle (Form 78-021).  
  • The salvage title. 
  • Proof of ownership. 
  • Receipts or bills of sale for all parts used in the reconstruction of the vehicle.

  • Work orders describing the repairs completed. 
  • Payment for the rebuilt title fee. 

Register a Salvage Title Car in Mississippi

With a rebuilt title, you’ll be able to register the vehicle again. 

To do so, you’ll need to:

  • Complete a registration application. 
  • Provide the title. 
  • Provide proof of insurance. 
  • Pay your registration fees and taxes.
