What is a Salvage Title in Missouri?
Like many other states, a salvage title in Missouri means that the vehicle has been reported to the DMV to be a total loss, wrecked, or damaged to the point where it is no longer roadworthy.
Missouri salvage title cars cannot be driven until they have been repaired and inspected.
How to Get a Salvage Title Cleared in Missouri
To get your salvage vehicle back on the road in Missouri, you’ll need to get the car repaired, inspected, and apply for a rebuilt title.
First, you’ll need to complete a salvage vehicle inspection.
After you pay the inspection fee, you’ll receive an inspection form to bring with you to the inspection location.
Once the vehicle passes the salvage inspection, the inspector will fill in the Vehicle Examination Certificate (Form DOR-551).
The inspection fee is $25 plus a $6 processing fee.
